Truther Senate Candidate Suddenly Realizes that Nobody Supports Him

Less than 2 months after announcing his candidacy, and having accomplished absolutely nothing (which for a truther is appropriate) Richard Curtis announces he is dropping out of the race to unseat Washington State Senator Patty Murray.

I made a big mistake. It was an error in judgment and timing. I was asked to run for the U.S. Senate by progressives who want peace and social justice. I agreed to take up the charge and try to challenge the incumbent. I did this because I believed (incorrectly) that there was a historic moment at hand when people of good will would turn their backs on the two party system and flock to an alternative, even one they did not really know about. I also believed that progressive organizations would flock even more to a progressive alternative. After all we were promised change and instead we got a third Bush term with a new face. It is disgusting and I thought all of us were so disgusted we would act. It turns out that is not true. People are disgusted but they did not act – they are tired (see below).

Rich, we barely knew ya.

Yes, blame it on the voters because they don't buy your crackpot views!

Rand Paul's opponent tried to smear him with Alex Jones but it didn't appear to damage Paul. However, Paul has never endorsed twooferism, but he should no better than to speak to scum like Jones.

Well, it's at least encouraging to see a Troofer own up to mistakes in judgment. Think he'll apply the lesson to his nutbar 9/11 beliefs? Or will his miserable failure to change the world just be more proof of the evil Truthers are up against?

"people are so profoundly tired"

"tired populations"

Yup, the usual superiority shtick; only truthers can save the tired, non-critical, dumbly accepting masses.

So, a small group of believers who think the people are like sheep and leadership (not to mention need of re-education).

Hmm, where have I heard that before…?

Looking back at the comments under the post about his candidacy announcement, there was not one word from our resident twoofers in support of this Scholar for 9/11 Troof's run for office. All there is just one particularly dimwitted twoofer troll espousing twoof.

Could it be that the twoofers are wising up? Do they now realize that all such efforts are doomed to epic failure? Have they concluded that hitting that donate button rather than buying some extra weed is a bad idea?

There's also the tone of self-entitlement and laziness. Apparently this guy thought the world should have just flocked to him without any effort on his part. His comments reveal that he had no clue how much hard work -- not to mention money -- it takes to win an election.

Prediction: Troofers will try to glom onto Rand Paul as evidence their ideas are taken seriously.
Just like they claimed they 'started' the Tea Party.
......another great youtube troofer 'epic fail' is coming.

Will liberals try to smear Rand Paul by tying in nutcase Troofers' love for his dad Ron Paul?

I guess they're just pissed that Troy has been exonerated, and now somehow expect that James Randi being gay somehow equals "Debunker King" is lying, therefore we are all are...

Is the "excitement" brewing in you, Anonymous? You must feel you lucked out trading up for Troy. So we're not all child abusers anymore, but now we're all gay, right? And this doesn't make you anti-gay either, right?

When you can prove that James Randi being gay somehow makes the WTC controlled demolition using thermite paint theory possible, then I will call myself a troofer.

But, you guys kept saying that Troy being a child abuser = inside jobby job, but then well, that was false and mistaken on your part.

Makes me "wonder what else" you've been false and mistaken on, hmmm?

(See what I did there?? Threw your argument back on you.)

This is an excerpt from the current issue of 'New Scientist', which is a special issue on denialism. This is how each is rated:

'Climate denial

In a nutshell: Global warming either (1) isn't real (2) isn't caused by humans or (3) doesn't matter
Origin: Corporate astroturfing in the early 1990s
Call themselves: Climate sceptics
Influence: *****

Evolution denial

In a nutshell: The theory of evolution is an atheist conspiracy to undermine religion
Origins: 19th century, though continually renewed
Call themselves: Creationists or intelligent design advocates
Influence: ****

Holocaust denial

In a nutshell: The systematic mass killing of European Jews by Nazi Germany is a fabrication, or at least a wild exaggeration
Origins: Late 1940s
Call themselves: Holocaust revisionists
Influence: *

AIDS denial

In a nutshell: HIV either (1) does not exist or (2) does not cause AIDS
Origins: 1987, when molecular biologist Peter Duesberg of the University of California questioned the link between HIV and AIDS in an academic paper
Call themselves: AIDS truthers
Influence: **

9/11 denial

From the same journal - how denialists work:

'1. Allege that there's a conspiracy. Claim that scientific consensus has arisen through collusion rather than the accumulation of evidence.

2. Use fake experts to support your story. "Denial always starts with a cadre of pseudo-experts with some credentials that create a facade of credibility," says Seth Kalichman of the University of Connecticut.

3. Cherry-pick the evidence: trumpet whatever appears to support your case and ignore or rubbish the rest. Carry on trotting out supportive evidence even after it has been discredited.

4. Create impossible standards for your opponents. Claim that the existing evidence is not good enough and demand more. If your opponent comes up with evidence you have demanded, move the goalposts.

5. Use logical fallacies. Hitler opposed smoking, so anti-smoking measures are Nazi. Deliberately misrepresent the scientific consensus and then knock down your straw man.

6. Manufacture doubt. Falsely portray scientists as so divided that basing policy on their advice would be premature. Insist "both sides" must be heard and cry censorship when "dissenting" arguments or experts are rejected.'

All of these apply to the troofers.

Walt, remember you said you'd lived in the UK for three years?

Well isn't it a fucking shame for you you don't even remember the faintest fucking detail of your time there, you lying little cunt:

https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=27396589&postID=5971462750759912988&page=1&token=1274392183760_AIe9_BHiNymD3_kblnhC8Xiv9cr_F44oGU6jw2YvL45khEyc_0aCyPydfKlqm5hDZy3t3g7Aywkvz8tlG4N9CvxiVUiIXJ75TOK38W4tmXNtjSl8tLyantvrVLqs7o7V_fMe79zN5kl6QQskMgqS73nld79GOeCqUvuQHvYmB8V3p_zUqHXcAOpfdtVvlj4HLrcU2yaUMf4CVgFVW626yHErXrdxVeTGBz6Jy-T18-2IvqTJlFcAhlgoP9Os63z_LvF8g9vC6xXA

I mean, the idea that you had a girlfriend in London - let alone one that would let you stay rent-free without paying a penny for the favour - is about as plausible as your claim to have served 36 months in Iraq.

You screwed up with your 3 year tour in Iraq claim. You screwed up by trying to claim that you lived in New Cross with someone who was brought up in South-East London. And you screwed up with your 'English and Liverpudlian' comment.

You're a fucking liar and a fantasist, Walt. It's no wonder that you're a troofer.

Any more than you're hiding the fact that you've never lived in my country, you've never fathered a child over here (or anywhere else - unless a date-rape drug was involved), and you never had a girlfriend who lived in New Cross (let alone anywhere else - see the above reasons).

You make up stupid lies, Walt. And you make yourself look even more of a mong when you try to defend them. This one goes in the file alongside 'A Real Veteran' and his 'three year tour' with US Special Forces on OIF.

You're not special forces. You're special needs.

Incidentally, three months and counting - I'm still waiting for all that evidence the Iranian regime said it had on Rigi and the CIA.
